Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin was born in Wellington, Manitoba. She grew up there. She made her acting debut as Flora McGrath, The romantic-drama film Piano. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and raised by Wellington Paquin's father, was first seen on stage as Flora McGrath. For this part, she was awarded the Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress for The romantic drama The Piano at the young age of eleven. She was the second youngest recipient in Oscar History. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin was born on July 24 the 24th of July, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for Best Supporting Actress for acting as the bright and interesting child of Holly Hunter's leading role The Piano. In response to an open audition call to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved from Scotland to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to be married. It was her first role at the age of nine and had no prior experience in acting. When she was in her teens, the actress moved to America. Paquin played Jane Eyre's main character when she was a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and her main character for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the TV adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin played Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 movie Amistad. The actress played teens in the films of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played in the role of Polexia Aphrodisa groupie as part of Almost Famous (2000).
