Zoe Saldana was born on June 19, 1978, in Passaic, New Jersey, to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her father is Dominican while her mother was Puerto Rican. Her parents raised her at home in Queens, New York. The year 2010 saw her move together with her family members to the Dominican Republic where they spent seven years. Zoe's passion for dance was ignited when they lived in the Dominican. Zoe started her dance learning through ECOS Espacio de Danza Dance Academy.
