Seasons 1-8 see shippers placing bids on two of the shipments listed on uShip. It is a reverse auction type of format. Bids include comments on the potential risks and costs along with the motivations and the capabilities. If the time limit expires for an auction then the job will be given to the lowest bidding bidder. At the discretion of the customer however, it might be given to a bidder with a higher average feedback rating than past customers. Feedback ratings are used to break any tie for the bidder with the lowest. Season 9 is when shippers are receiving their loads from a shipping company. Bidding isn't revealed. Shippers load their cargo and try to deliver the cargo in good order by the deadline set by the buyer or the receiver. Once the goods have been delivered, feedback ratings are presented from the clients. Every shipper's earnings and expenses (fuel labor, late delivery penalties), is displayed on-screen at the end. The bid amount is subtracted to determine the total loss and profit. Sometimes, a shipping company will offer to haul one or more additional loads during the same trip and the additional money is incorporated into their tally. In some instances it is possible that the shipper is not able to finish a task due to concerns over the weight of the load or the road safety. A shipper may hire an additional person to help with the task. Once the job is completed, the shippers decide how to split the proceeds. Seasons 1-8 are filled with funny critiques from the other shippers.
